When Marv Sawyer founded ProCut Firewood in 1989, he didn’t want it to be just another local firewood company. After all, the Rochester, MN, market was already saturated with businesses that sold subpar wood and only cared about profits, not people. So, Marv took the opposite approach.
He built ProCut Firewood on the philosophy of treating every customer like family. And what better way to create a family atmosphere than to build the business with your family? Over the years, Marv has worked with many of his family members, including his daughter Madison, to provide the local region with the best possible products and services.

Treating our customers like family means giving them firewood that exceeds all their expectations. For this reason, we only produce kiln-dried firewood for our customers. Producing this wood takes extra work on our part, but it’s worth it for how it improves our customers’ lives.
Not only is kiln-dried firewood easy to light and maintain with very little smoke, but it also contains no invasive pests or mold. In fact, the wood is so clean and safe to transport that we received certification from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. No other firewood company in our region has this distinction.
